چکیده
Non-nutritive sucking and oral uptake of glucose 25% are often non-pharmacological methods used to manage procedural pain in newborns. Aim: To compare the effect using non-nutritive suction (NNS) Sol.Glucosae for reducing/eliminating neonatal due heel prick. Material methods: Term infants were studied: group (A), NNS, n = 40, (B) 25%, 40. The severity was assessed Neonatal Facial Coding System (NFCS) scale: 30 seconds before procedure, at 30th second 5th minute after procedure. Physiological markers monitored these intervals: respiratory, heart rate, transcutaneous saturation (tSpO2), arterial blood pressure. Results Discussion: Newborns a had lower evaluation compared those treated with suckling(A). There significant differences breathing frequency intake Sol. Glucose NNS causes higher rate decrease painful In contrast respiratory tSpO2 min. we reported than norms both groups A B. Conclusion: Unlike eliminates within 5 minutes Excluding pressure, all other physiological undergo changes procedure but not it.

Comparing the Effect of Non-nutritive Sucking and Abdominal Massage on Feeding Tolerance in Preterm Newborns
Background:Enteral feeding intolerance is a major problem in the preterm neonates. Non-nutritive sucking and abdominal massage are among the most important nutritional interventions in this regard. Aim: This study aimed to compare the effect of non-nutritive sucking and abdominal massage on feeding tolerance in the preterm newborns. Method: This clinical trial was conducted on 52 preterm neonat...
متن کاملAnalgesic effect of 30% glucose, milk and non-nutritive sucking in neonates
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate nondrug management practices concerning pain induced by blood sampling in newborns in a Moroccan neonatal unit and to determine whether the results reported from a randomized clinical study of nondrug analgesia could be reproduced in a routine care setting. METHODS Standardized prospective observation of analgesic practices used during blood sa...
متن کاملNon-nutritive sucking evaluation in preterm newborns and the start of oral feeding: a multicenter study
OBJECTIVES The assessment of early sucking by preterm infants provides information on the ability of these infants to efficiently and safely receive nutrients via an oral route (oral feeding). To analyze the application and reliability of an instrument in assessing non-nutritive sucking that indicates a capacity for oral feeding in the routine care of different neonatal units. METHODS A multi...
متن کاملNon-nutritive Sucking and Sentence Processing
A variant of the non-nutritive sucking method was explored to test 2-month-old infants’ perception of whole sentences. Three consecutive high-amplitude sucks were required to trigger one sentence, and each subject was submitted to two changes in stimulation, one experimental (language change) and one control (speaker change). The results were significant, showing that the procedure is appropria...
متن کاملThe Effect of Non-Nutritive Sucking on Weight Gain and Length of stay in Preterm Infants
Background: Preterm infants frequently experience oral feeding difficulties due to undeveloped oral- motor skills and lack of coordination between sucking, swallowing and breathing. Infants’ ability to orally consume all feedings while maintaining physiological stability and weight gain is necessary for their discharge. Aim: The effect of non-nutritive sucking on weight gain in preterm infants....
